AND I AM TAKING YOU ALL WITH ME!

Well, so far, off to a fantastic start.  I left Costa Rica just over a week ago and what I thought would be an emotionally difficult exit turned out to be an emotionally amazing and energetic continuation to this next step in life.  In my last days, I was filled with so much love and happiness that it made the change less drastic.  I have nothing but good words to speak of my friends and family in Costa Rica, though, as some may know, my heart and mind are still on the mend.

My visit to Chicago, although quick, was also full of much needed support and many lessons and in saying my goodbyes, I cannot help but be left with the knowing that those there that love me will continue to love me and I them.  This is my home and will always be.  This is my backbone, the root of why I have become who I am and the people who have known me for over 20 years have played a large part in my creation.

Maybe it is because of all this that as I sit on my plane leaving Chicago, I am filled with a feeling of completion and contentment.  The familiar sense of loneliness that has filled my life the past year seems to be absent and instead, as I sit, all by myself, embarking on a new adventure, I feel accompanied more than ever.  I feel, in a way, that I am taking each of you with me.  Not just in spirit, but in everything.  In action and in breath; in my doings and my being; in the many homemade gifts you have adorned me with; in my thoughts and in those around me.  I am carrying you each in my hearts and all of a sudden, it is not important that I am alone on this voyage.  I realize now that I am also doing this for all of you.  I am not sure what it is that I am looking to get out of this or what exactly I am searching for, but I realize now that I am not doing it alone.  Whether near or far, North or South, high sea or low tide, I know one thing for sure: I am taking all of you with me, so prepare for the trip of a lifetime!
